It was crazy. Everybody claims to do acoustic, unplugged sets but there's always the errant mic, the small amp, the con. We played it straight. Which is to say: we did not even set up on the stage. We set up on the floor of the club, at the end of the bar, blocking the exit. Bassist Dan Adams had to relearn all the songs from his custom 5-string fretless bass for a 4-string upright. I had to get used to singing without a mic. Greg David played brushes. Niko Wenner pulled up a chair and played acoustic guitar and if you wanted to hear it all? You had to move CLOSER.
